Also this week we discuss the plight of the single guy during the holidays as Sai recounts his tales of akward holidays spent with some well meaning friends.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

TGP Ep.48 Wake up Call & No Shave November

[display_podcast]
Going Postal & Daylite Savings Time
Rumors abound concerning the impending demise of the U.S. Postal system as we know it. We talk about some reasons for this and reminisce about the lost art of letter writing.
Then we discuss the pros and cons of living under daylight savings time.

What would you like to be woken up by?
Being woken up out of a sound sleep is probably one of the least pleasant things that can happen. However, after several days without power earlier this week, Sae and his family were woken up in the middle of the night by all of their lights coming back on. This got us thinking. What wouldn’t we mind (other than the obvious) being woken up for? We put the question out to our Facebook and Twitter (@TGPBuzz) followers and we share some of their very interesting responses.

The Meat: Our Mane Topic
Well it’s No Shave November again and it got us thinking about both the current trend in big beards and the fascination with body waxing. Is it all or nothing?

Ask the Guys:
Jane asks, “We’re finished, right?”
Rachel wonders, “What does he mean when he says he wants a future with me?”
Ali asks, “Is this a booty call or serious relationship?”

The Meat:  A proposal is going before the Mexican legislature that will make marriage initially a 2 year contract.  With nearly half of all marriages in the developed world ending in divorce the contract will set specific guidelines for child custody and the dissolution of assets should the relationship end at the two year point.  Couples will have the option to re-up at the two year mark or just walk away.
Should marriage become no more than a gym membership commitment?  Is this forward thinking or just plain foolishness?  Join the conversation.

Ask the Guys:  This week we devote the entire segment to one great question.
Misa 17 asks what advice we can give as she approaches dating Corben age 30.  What?  Yeah that was our first reaction, but you’ll have to hear her letter to make up your own mind.

TGP Episode 33: Dating Questions, Dentist Fees, and Pet Peeves

Every few episodes THE GUYS need to address the capacious store of unanswered dating and relationship questions built up over the course of a month.

But before that, Cucch and Sai question the practice of newspaper price discrimination based on geography, as well as the art of gouging-teeth and wallet-practiced by the local dentist. It must be nice to practice in palatial surroundings.

To wind down Cucch and Sai give their opinions on a variety of relationship questions.

Sarah is beginning to have a change of heart. Now that her man wants to introduce her to his family, she’s unsure how she feels about it.

Dan wonders whether or not he’s being played by the single mom he has recently started dating.

Miss Lady’s boyfriend turned down a trip to Vegas with her, but after his guy friends ask him he’s all in. Now what?

Jenny’s man cheated on her with seven to ten different women, but she still loves him. Why would he do that?

Emily has an admirer, at least that’s what her loving friends tell her. Are they right she wonders?

Riya is confused about a guy from work. They date; he decides it’s not going to work; but then he keeps texting even after she’s moved on. She is curious why he still is trying to be “friends.”

Some other choices for the weekend were:

Playing sports, cooking, spending time with the family, drinking a cold libation, etc. Even our President is getting into the weekend action.

In Father Stories Sae shares a story about his daughter Maya, which brought up a larger question for both Cucch and Sae. As our kids mature, and get older, how do our roles change as fathers? Cucch shares a story of his own.

Next, Cucch and Sae answer your relationship questions in the Ask the Guys segment.

Courtney asks: Is he into me?

Somehow, somewhere, some person, while perusing the web for who knows what, “absent mindedly” made a simple clerical error and added a middle initial to Sae’s name. The consequences have been, let’s say, um, mixed. Cucch chimes in with his own telemarketer story.

Our next Pet Peeve involves a guy named “Harry Baals(Balls)” and the building they’d like to name after him.

We move to “Ask the Guys” where we answer several new questions.

From Sandra: “Is he just a playa?”

From Jasmine: “How do I get over him?”

From Mariah: “Am I missing something?”

We answer relationship questions with thoughtful and honest opinions. Please feel free to leave us a note on the “Ask the Guys” page, or give us a call at: 347-855-GUYS.

Also, check out The Guy’s Network for the lastest relationship question, and our opinions. “Am I getting played: What’s his game?”

TGP Episode 28: Parenting, Celebrities, Privacy in Public Places?

What’s a Dipthong? It’s much more than the sum of its parts. (Dip + Thong does not equal Dipthong.)

We move into The Truth where Cucch typically has had a hard time fooling Sae. Today’s stories are all about celebrities and their foibles. Cucch shares stories about Jack LaLanne, Ernest Borgnine(See Video), and Joan Rivers. Try to figure it out along with Sae.

We move to Father Stories where Sae shares two stories about his own kids. In one story he emerges victorious, and the other one he tastes the agony of defeat. Isn’t this parenting gig great? (By the way, please check out Sae’s other podcast “The Parent Gig” on The Guys’ Network dot com.

We move to Valentine’s Day and all the expectations that come with that special day.

In the Ask the Guys segment we answer questions from:

Sherry: Am I addicted?

Leanora: Does the high school guy like me?

Rebecca: Am I booty call?

We finish with THE MEAT. Should we be able to expect privacy in a public place? What do you think? Cucch and Sae don’t necessarily see eye to eye.

Please get in the running to win two flash drives loaded with all of our podcasts. One for you and one for a friend. Leave us a five star review on itunes and get your name put in a hat-a real one-to win.

Thanks for listening. We appreciate your support and contributions to the show!

TGP Episode 26: The power of saying yes

We start out with “The Truth.” Cucch shares three stories- two are true and one is false. It’s up to Sai-and you-to figure out the truth.

Ever washed your hands and then realized there were no paper towels; and even worse a hand dryer built in the early 19th century? This is our latest “Pet Peeve.”

We move on to “Father Stories” where Cucch shares a story about his grandfather. Sometimes what’s off camera is more compelling than what’s on.

And we finish with “THE MEAT.” The power of saying yes. It might just be  the best way to operate.

Special Note: In one week we’ll be launching our podcast network. Be looking for new shows from The Guys’ Network, along with a brand new website. Spread the word. Thanks!

TGP Episode 24: The second time around

One of the greatest gifts children give to their parents is the chance to live life a second time around. Sai reads a piece he wrote for The Guy’s Perspective blog by that same name, with some quiet jazz playing in the background.

How are you planning on living life in the New Year? Status quo? Any changes? Please share your resolutions with us.

We start off with “Hot or Not.” We give our ratings on: eggnog, snowmen, getting gifts, holiday cards, novelty tunes, and much more.

We then move into “Father Stories” where Sai shares a story about altruism, and Cucch shares the latest trend in gift giving with “Heifer International.” Now you can give a cow as a gift!

We finish with “The best gift ever.” Our listeners and readers share their favorite gifts they ever gave….and received.

TGP Episode 22: Santa and the tooth fairy, teen fashion, weird Wiki tales

We disagreed more on this episode than all the other episodes combined.

We started off with “Youth is Wasted on the Young.” We discussed skinny jeans, baggy pants, skinny ties, and everything in between. Who should really be in charge of forging fashion trends? This might be too much responsibility for a teen.

In “The Truth,” Cucch shares three weird Wiki moments, two of which are true, and one, a complete fabrication. What do you think?

The Phallological Museum

Buffalo, Buffalo….the strangest sentence.

“Laser Girl” starring Sally Field.

In “Ask the Guys” we field-no pun intended-two age related questions. Eighteen year old girl meets guy twice her age, AND twice married, forty one year old woman, meets twenty five year old Indian man. Is there a double standard?

We conclude with “THE MEAT.” Santa Claus, The tooth fairy, and other magical creatures. Should we reveal the true identities of these creatures to our children, or do we let them find it out at school?

TGP Episode 21: Third Act Tragedy

We begin with “Youth is Wasted on the Young” - Cucch and Sai share Life’s Milestones

Then Jen “Asks the Guys” about her long distance relationship. Is she getting good vibes?

We finish with “THE MEAT” – an intense discussion about life’s third act. What happens after tragedy strikes? Or…..maybe more and more people are actually choosing a third act?

Thanks for listening! We really appreciate your support. Please contact us if you have any relationship questions, father stories to share, or any comments or general questions for us.

Subscribe on itunes, and leave us a five star review. It only takes a minute. Once we hit 60 reviews we’ll be picking a winner for a piece of our merchandise.

TGP Episode 20: The Beatles, Conspiracies, and Giving Thanks

In the News: The Beatles finally give it up to itunes. And once again, it seems like we just can’t get away from an Apple being an integral part of man’s AND woman’s existence.

But, Glee still takes the prize. Read it on: Death and Taxes.

On Pet Peeves, Sai discusses his cell phone answering service conspiracy.

THE MEAT: We discuss Thanksgiving and all that it means to us. What do YOU think about the following Thanksgiving items?

Turkey, stuffing, babies, traffic, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, family dynamics, football, Black Friday.

Some of these are our Top 3, and some our Drop 3. Can you guess which are which?

Cucch’s Mom’s Thanksgiving Sausage Stuffing:
Note:  this recipe makes about double what you need to stuff a 20-24lb. turkey

8 lbs. potatoes, diced, cooked and coursely mashed
3 lbs. Jimmy Dean sausage.  (3 of the 1 lb. tubes)
3 large onions diced
3 lbs. lean ground beef
4 eggs lightly beaten
1 ½ TBS of poultry seasoning blend
1 tsp. sea salt
½ – 1 tsp. black pepper
Cook and rough mash or rice the potatoes setting aside to cool.  Saute onions, sausage and ground beef (in batches if necessary) drain excess fat and set aside to cool.  When potatoes and sausage mixtures are cool, combine and mix in beaten eggs, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.  Follow safe guidelines about stuffing your turkey.  Any extra stuffing can be cooked in a separate casserole dish for about the last 45 minutes that your turkey is in the oven.  Baste the additional stuffing lightly with turkey juices when you baste the turkey.  To be safe the stuffing both in the turkey and any casserole dishes should reach at least 165 degrees.  Enjoy!

Ask the Guys:

Danielle – What is the difference between being nervous and a jerk?

and

Hellen – Lights off? What the hell does he mean by that??!!

TGP Episode 19: Buyer’s Regret, Making the Team, Kissing Cousins

We start out this episode with: Are we the only ones? as we discuss movie sequels. Do they work for you? They don’t work for Cucch. He gives his reason why, and it may surprise you….man falls for woman, then woman disappears.

Aliens, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones

We hope to be conducting interviews soon. But we need some help getting a telephone interface: JK Audio. Please sponsor THE GUYS. We’ll be happy to return the favor by promoting your website, business, or recent endeavors.

In Father Stories, Sai discusses his son’s journey with travel basketball tryouts. Making the team came with an important life lesson.

Cucch brings up Geek Holidays. Modern Warfare Black Ops was released last week, and on the very same day, businesses reported a high number of sick workers. Coincidence or not?

Why is Gordon Ramsey our least favorite Gordon?

And finally we wrap it up with Ask the Guys. Noel wants to know if an “eye for and eye” is okay. Maybe Noel. But certainly not an “eye for a head.”

And Paige wonders if dating her ex’s cousin is a No Go. Hmm…….nothing like kissing cousins.
